Key Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing

The Laboratory Technician will be a key member of the Varro research and development team. This position will have multiple technical responsibilities supporting R&D internally.

The Laboratory Technician will also be responsible for facilitating the R&D team with technical aspects of conducting wet lab experiments, assays, data entry, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and laboratory space. In addition you will collaborate with team members to  carry out daily objectives in a high throughput environment, troubleshoot obstacles, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that Varro can achieve its objectives.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to: 

      Assist with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.

      Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.

      Perform data entry and maintains data files on research.

      Maintain accurate, detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic data records in compliance with internal and external standards.

      Adhere to all laboratory safety, biosafety, and regulatory guidelines.

      Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.

      Assist with general lab maintenance and cleaning.

      Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

Baseline Skills, Experiences, & Attributes: 

      Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or a related science discipline

      No experience is required

      Knowledge of laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, sample preparation, pipetting, centrifugation and purification, dilution, data analysis and proper data storage hygiene

      Strong written and verbal communication skills 

      Strong sterile technique, and functional wet laboratory skills

      Strong organizational skills 

      Experience with Google Workplace and Microsoft Suite 

Preferred Qualifications:

      Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or degree in a related discipline with 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting

      Knowledge of high throughput processes, automation, and

      Experience with common laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, sample preparation, pipetting, titration, data analysis software, voltammetry, amperometry

      This position is required to work onsite at our laboratory location in St. Louis, MO

 

Location and Compensation

This is an onsite, full-time position located in St. Louis, MO.

Anticipated Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000 annually. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, operational needs, potential employee qualifications and other considerations permitted by law. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, equity and program-specific awards.
