We are searching for a talented RN-RDC Coordinator

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.



Responsibilities

Under general supervision of Team Leader, Revenue Data Center, perform diversified duties relative to the appeals process of denials by third party payers. Complete appeal responses for all levels of denials for medical care and services rendered utilizing third party payers and organizations standards in the appeal process. Review post discharge appeals process identifying potential risk issues to the organization. Update database with response to appeals by payer, recuperated amounts and/or lost dollars. Work collaboratively with the Billing, Medical Records, Patient Registration Finance Physicians department and other multidisciplinary teams both within and outside the organization to improve reimbursement through effective utilization and monitoring of health care resources. Must be available to work as needed including extended hours and weekends.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Nursing or other health care field or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required.
  • Current Massachusetts RN licensed is required.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills are required.
  • Must possess multitasking skills and the ability to tolerate interruptions and demanding work assignment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Meditech, GroupWise, or specialty software specific to function is required.
  • A minimum of five years related work experience including a minimum of three years experience with managed care and medical record review in acute care hospitals.
  • Must possess knowledge of denials and appeals process, Milliman & Roberts and Interqual criteria.
  • Certification in Managed Care or Case Management preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.



Pay Range

USD $41.15 - USD $71.64 /Hr.
