Job Description

The Library Information Specialist position will perform the following circulation and access services duties:

  • check materials in/out
  • assist library patrons with inquiries or other needs that arise
  • monitor and enforce library rules
  • maintain a safe environment for patrons and library staff
  • implement emergency procedures and protocols as needed in coordination with the library security officers and campus police
  • manage stacks maintenance (re-shelving, shelf-reading, weeding, and assessing damaged materials), ensuring collection health, space for growth, and a user-friendly browsing experience
  • oversee billing for damaged and lost library items and ensure that all billing procedures are followed in accordance with library policies
  • responsible for general supervision of the library building during daytime hours, including opening the building Monday through Friday
  • submit work orders to the Facilities Management Department for building maintenance repairs or other issues.

Shift

M-F; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: 22.59 per hour
