Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. At least one year of relevant experience at the collegiate level.
License/Certification Required
Hold and maintain a professional strength and conditioning certification through the NSCA ( CSCS), or the CSCCa ( SCCC).
Preferred Qualifications
Master degree preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall education program. Priority is given to high standards of academic and athletic quality, with the goal of the complete development of the student-athlete.

The Assistant Director - Football Athletic Performance role is critical as it assists in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs under the discretion of the Director Football Athletic Performance. This position will focus on supervising lifting techniques and educating student-athletes on the proper mechanics to aid in injury mitigation and optimize the growth of the student-athletes. This role will collaborate with an Elite Performance team to help ensure the health and well-being of all football student-athletes.

Some of the responsibilities are:

1. Administration duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Performance
2. Collaborate with head coaches to design and implement year-round training programs for assigned sports teams.
3. Test & Evaluate the progress of athletes over the course of the season and year
4. Supervises athletics Weight Room, inventory, and maintenance.
5. Work in conjunction with athletic trainers regarding injuries, rehabilitation, and nutrition.
6. Coordinate with coaches regarding schedules and needs.
7. Support education on nutrition and supplementation
9. Commitment to and compliance with the University's and Department of Athletics policies and procedures as well as the Sun Belt and NCAA constitutions, bylaws, legislation, and regulations.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Olympic Sports.

90% of duties are related to coaching/instructing.
