Position Summary
This position will conduct research on how glycoengineering of cells impacts their physiology, and new methods on glycan sequencing using AI.

  • It is expected that the researcher will have five or more years experience in the field of bioinformatics in particular involving the use of advanced statistical methods.
  • Experience programming in Python and/or R is essential.

Research and analysis of data.

This will include the analysis of glycosylation patterns and RNA-Seq data with a goal of quantifying the impact of glycoengineering on CHO cells. The researcher will be responsible for publishing on how glycoengineering of cells impacts their physiology, and new methods on glycan sequencing using AI. This will be associated with an NSF grant on the topic, and the researcher will support the drafting of follow-up grants.

Writing manuscripts.

Research will be written up on how glycoengineering impacts CHO cells and how lectins can be used for glycan sequencing with AI. It is expected that these will be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. The researcher will also address reviewer comments until work is published. The researcher will oversee the use of funds for complex computational studies using AI in a recent NSF grant. The researcher will also oversee others working on the NSF grant when the PI is traveling and to aid in drafting progress reports.

Proposals will be written on glycoengineering for therapeutic applications. The researcher will aid in these efforts. Budgetary responsibility - the researcher will oversee the use of funds for complex computational studies using AI in a recent NSF grant. The researcher will also oversee others working on the NSF grant when the PI is traveling and to aid in drafting progress reports.
