Ignite Digital Services, has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Auditor to support the technical delivery on one of our projects within the Federal Government in the Charleston, SC area. The nature of this position requires the candidate to exhibit exceptional organizational skills, notable attention to detail, outstanding verbal, written, listening and communication skills. The ability to self-motivate and take initiative is a must. The position is hybrid (2 days in office (Monday & Tuesday), 3 days remote). Responsibilities Include:

Risk Assessment
* Evaluate risk management frameworks and controls that support the achievement of operational, financial, and compliance objectives.
* Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks related to financial reporting, operational processes, and compliance with federal regulations.
* Collaborate with management to prioritize risks, develop action plans, and ensure controls are in place to mitigate identified risks.

Internal Controls Testing
* Support internal audits in compliance with OMB Circular A-123, which provides guidelines for the management of federal internal controls, ensuring financial reporting integrity and compliance with federal regulations.
* Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls in alignment with OMB Circular A-123 requirements.
* Identify deficiencies or weaknesses in internal control systems, ensuring that they are promptly addressed and remediated.
* Ensure proper documentation of testing procedures, results, and identified control gaps.
* Lead process walkthrough discussions with stakeholders and document the processes as needed.

Audit Reporting & Communication
* Prepare audit reports that clearly communicate findings, including identified control weaknesses, risk exposures, and recommendations for improvement.
* Present audit results and key findings to management and relevant stakeholders, focusing on risks that may impact financial reporting or compliance.
* Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions and monitor progress on risk mitigation efforts.

Continuous Improvement
* Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in OMB Circular A-123, federal regulations, and best practices in internal auditing and risk management.
* Recommend improvements to the internal control environment to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and ensure compliance with evolving federal guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 1 - 3 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or compliance auditing, with a focus on federal regulations and OMB Circular A-123.
* Experience with conducting internal control testing, risk assessments, and evaluating control frameworks.
* Knowledge of federal financial management regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Active Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent professional designation including but not limited to CPA, CISA, CFE and CDFM
* Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data analytics tools and analytical applications (MS Excel) to analyze, interpret, and organize a variety of data and information.
* Familiarity with other OMB Circulars, such as OMB Circular A-123 Appendix A (internal controls) and A-133 (audit requirements).
* Experience with risk management frameworks such as COSO, ERM, or ISO.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex audit findings clearly.

Salary:
* $75+ to align with education and experience
