Under general direction of the Director of Clinical Engineering, manages the staff, operations, and performance of the cost center. The incumbent performs the supervisory functions of the technical staff responsible for the maintenance of medical equipment. Assures compliance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation standards. Manages the operating budget, following the departmental and organizational financial guidelines.

Salary: $112,900 - $256,900 / annually

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent
    experience / training. Master's degree
    in related area preferred.
  • 3 years of Supervisory/Managerial experience in
    Clinical/Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Electronics technician skills, including troubleshooting,
    ability to read electronic schematics, electronics repair, electronic and
    mechanical assembly and construction, use and operation of various, electronic
    and medical technology test equipment, ability to use tools.
  • Knowledge of biomedical instrumentation, human anatomy, and
    physiology.
  • Skills and knowledge to effectively communicate (oral and
    written) with medical/nursing staff, various levels of hospital personnel and
    vendors.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective supervision of highly
    technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to promote teamwork.
  • Knowledge of applicable accreditation and licensing
    requirements of medical equipment maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge in all applicable policies & procedures
    related to Personnel and Collective Bargaining Units.
  • Ability to develop, review and adapt test procedures,
    methods and performance criteria for maintenance and repair of medical
    equipment.
  • Skills, knowledge, and ability to prepare technical
    documentation, reports and written correspondence.
  • Knowledge and skills with the use of computerized Equipment
    Maintenance Management (EMM) program.
  • Working knowledge and ability to operate PC (in Windows
    environment) and printer.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in utilization of
    Microsoft Office software with emphasis on Word and Excel applications.
  • Skills in organizing and maintaining computer files.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal,
    customer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including copier,
    labeler, fax machine, scanner, and telephone.
  • Skills in organizing workflow and prioritizing tasks to
    complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Skills in maintaining a neat and organized work area.
Preferred
  • Certification in Clinical Engineering specialty.
