Position Summary |
The Program manager/coordinator will manage drug and alcohol prevention services by developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote healthy, substance-free student lifestyles. The program manager will also lead educational initiatives, provide support services, and collaborate with campus partners to create a safe and supportive environment. This role involves both proactive prevention efforts and responsive support for students dealing with substance use issues.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Certification in substance abuse counseling or prevention is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in drug and alcohol prevention, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of college student development, substance use, and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and foster a positive, inclusive campus environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
Program Development and Implementation: Develop educational campaigns, workshops, and seminars to raise awareness about substance abuse risks.- Collaborate with campus organizations, residence life, and student groups to integrate prevention initiatives into campus life.
Student Support and Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing issues related to drug and alcohol use.- Conduct assessments to determine the level of support needed and refer students to appropriate services or treatment programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all student interactions.
Outreach and Collaboration: Partner with local community organizations, healthcare providers, and law enforcement to enhance prevention efforts and support services.
