POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Enterprise Systems Operations team. The Systems Administrator provides superior service delivery and technical expertise across a broad range of operations and support of technology systems. This role focuses on proactive maintenance, tuning, monitoring, incident response and remediation, implementation of approved systems changes, and new systems configuration. The Systems Administrator works closely with other Enterprise Systems Operations team members to deliver on departmental SLAs and other performance commitments made to resort and enterprise stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
- Implement, build, configure, and document compute/server, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, Active Directory and related operational management systems, based on established designs and standards.
- Provide outstanding delivery of 24/7 production services supporting server hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, hyperconverged infrastructure, storage platforms, cloud services, and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on capability identify, diagnose and resolve operational impacts to service such as outages, performance issues, capacity constraints, and security risks.
- Perform configuration and change management activities as driven by formal ITSM processes established for the department.
- Operate next-generation infrastructure automation that drives efficiency, security, and optimizes performance against established goals of availability, recoverability, performance, and other KPIs.
- Collaborate with other member of the Systems Operations team and resort IT teams.
- Follow existing and recommend new processes, structures, and systems with a focus on simplification and optimization.
- Act as point of escalation for both internal customers (resort and enterprise applications) and departmental issues and incidents.
- Collaborate closely with Business Applications/Business Analyst teams to establish and support applications operations frameworks and processes.
- Work closely with IT Security, Compliance & Privacy to enforce standards, operational processes, and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and certifications in CS, EE, CIS or other related field is preferred. MCSE or other advanced MS certifications are preferred.
- Proven experience as a systems administrator in an enterprise environment (2+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and enterprise applications (ERP, CRM).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Professional/lived experience working in a culturally competent manner with a diverse range of people.
- Proficiency in adjacent areas of IT Operations is a plus (eg. Network Operations, Database Administration)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL v3 Foundations, MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $67,000 - $80,000 per year
