Summary:

The Intern role provides administrative and project support within assigned department, while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

The operations department of the MaineHealth Medical Group consists of both service area VP of operations as well as Operations Specialists who provide project support to various initiatives in the Southern Region as well as System-wide efforts. The work covers a broad range of topics such as patient access projects, patient experience efforts, implementation of new systems, and process improvement support.

The intern will be involved in at least 2 projects that support the practice operations of the Medical Group. The intern will spend time visiting different practice sites to learn and understand the work of the Medical Group. Opportunities to refine projects based on individuals' areas of interest as well as overall education of healthcare operations.

Preference will be given to undergraduate juniors and seniors who are studying health management and policy.

1. Education: Student who is currently enrolled in a two-year Associate's Degree program, Bachelor's Degree program, or graduate-level program preferred.
