Summary:
The Intern role provides administrative and project support within assigned department, while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

Vocational Services is a team of 60 that has recently merged with MaineHealth Human Resources. We work with individuals with various disabilities to obtain and maintain employment. We have a team that work with individuals to assist with explaining what will happen to their benefits when they return to work, as well. Learn more about our work here.

Our interns will work exclusively with our Summer Employment Program as Job Coaches. This is a program that works with participants ages 14-24 to work at a job site and have a work experience. Participants work Monday through Thursday 8:30a-1:30p in various departments within the MaineHealth system. There is also a Final Celebration that will be held to celebrate the accomplishments of the participants. Job coaches are responsible for supplementing any training that the participant will receive on the job site and also navigating the policies and procedures of having a job.

Preference will be given to undergraduate juniors and seniors and graduate students pursuingBehavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or related areas.

1. Education: Student who is currently enrolled in a two-year Associate's Degree program, Bachelor's Degree program, or graduate-level program preferred.
