Take a look at this opportunity with our Quality Control team, which is seeking a passionate individual, to fill the role of our QC Lab Specialist I. This role provides support in daily lab testing of incoming raw milk samples, in-process, finished product, and stability samples.

  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of business processes to accomplish laboratory testing and recording results
  • Demonstrates full understanding of routine laboratory procedures
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines to perform routine laboratory procedures to test the quality of incoming samples
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has knowledge of other related business disciplines/processes
  • Works on moderately complex projects with team members
  • Applies knowledge of policies, practices and underlying concepts to assignments
  • Effectively completes assigned projects
  • Serves as a technical resource
  • Utilizes significant knowledge of laboratory testing in preparing conclusions and recommendations
  • May make minor adaptations and modifications
  • Completes laboratory testing on all samples in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
  • Performs general microbiological and bovine protein testing
  • Performs ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) tests to measure for drugs of abuse
  • Evaluates the physical characteristics of samples for acceptability
  • Maintains a safe and clean laboratory
  • Disposes of hazardous/biohazardous wastes according to Prolacta established procedures
  • May provide leadership and/or guidance to junior colleagues on a semi-regular basis



What you bring to the role

* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or other related discipline

* Minimum of 1-2 years hands-on experience in manufacturing, operations, or pilot lab/scale-up operations; experience in pharmaceutical scale-up activities, pharmaceutical validations, or extensive laboratory experience in protein chemistry highly desired
