Faculty Physician - Assistant Professor - Cardiovascular Imaging Research

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a cardiologist to join the Cardiovascular Division in furthering our mission to be a leader in innovation and transformational initiatives.

The Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota has a well established regional and national reputation as a source of Cardiovascular Imaging, clinical care and research. The Division is now recruiting an assistant, associate, or full professor rank faculty member on the academic research track, in its Imaging section. The candidate will work closely with the Cardiovascular Division, the Lillehei Heart Institute, and the service line to support and expand the University's clinical and academic missions.

Qualifications:

  • Area of expertise in general clinical cardiology, advanced training and expertise in advanced imaging patient care management, and proven knowledge and success in research publication and mentorship.
  • Attainment of externally funded grant submissions, experience in large clinical research trials, and experience in supporting post graduate fellowship training are desirable.
  • Evidence of prior success in research and a well-developed research plan in required.
  • Graduate of accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and critical care fellowship training programs.
  • Board certified or board eligible with the ABIM in cardiology and critical care
  • Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.

Pay and Benefits:

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range this position is $316,289 - $562,966 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
