Job Description
Student Employment.

We are seeking energetic, fun, and engaging individuals to inspire campers to become the best version of themselves.
Provide support and create a safe, supportive environment for 2-6th grade students participating in camp activities. Guide students through their camp experience by assisting with academics, leadership development, team building, peer relationships, recreational activities, and serving as a mentor. Build connections, both individually and collectively, with campers by planning and leading intentional in-person interactions, group activities, and workshops.
Counselors also monitor student engagement, ensure safety protocols are followed, and help students adapt to the camp routine. Counselors should be highly accessible throughout the camp day and actively involved in activities across campus.
We need mature, dependable, and energetic young adults who enjoy working with kids. This is an ideal opportunity for future educators, but all majors are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the safety of students and other staff members. Observe surroundings, identify problems or students in distress and respond according to protocol.

Enforcing the rules of the Camp Norse Code of Conduct. Hold students accountable for their behaviors and comfortable enforcing policy.

Monitoring, leading, and encouraging a team of students (usually in groups of 8 - 10) in daily and weekly activities; supervising and developing all the student participants (usually 20 - 25). Work as part of a team to create a successful, safe, and fun learning environment for students.
Assisting professional staff members. Communicating with professional staff members.
Effectively communicate, give directions, and lead students in the event of an emergency.

Prepare reports and correspondences, including but not limited to incident reports, emails to camp staff.

Demonstrate a commitment to multiculturalism by striving to create an understanding and inclusive community where individuals have a sense of belonging.

Plan, lead, and participate in group activities, workshops, and recreational sessions.
Guide campers between activities and ensure adherence to the daily schedule.
Assist with setup and cleanup of camp activities and spaces as needed.
Qualifications
2.5 minimum GPA.
Candidates must possess a driver's license in case of emergency driving. RAs must be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing with the University and the Department. This includes upholding all policies and procedures as defined by Northern Kentucky University's Community Standards & Student Rights , Housing Policies, Rules & Regulations and any other applicable University policies and procedures.

You must be available to attend all training prior to camp's start. You must be available for the entire time period of camp (June 9-August 8).
Minimum Education High School Diploma
Pay Rate $11.00 per hour
