Job Summary:

This position is a key member of the plant leadership team that is responsible for general and cost accounting, accounts payable, payroll, preparing financial reports, and preparing and monitoring the Annual Operating Plan. This role will facilitate the overall management of the organization as a member of the regional leadership team. This role will review, oversee and monitor all financial activities of the region to ensure that US accounting standards, GAAP, SOX and company financial controls are adhered to with sufficient record retention to document compliance. This position leads the development of the region's annual financial goals and cost standards process and monitors performance and will advise when corrective action is needed and drives the business toward cost target achievement.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Provides financial leadership, decision support modeling and analysis for regional management to determine strategy and tactical responses to emerging business issues in order to maintain or improve profit/cost target/delivery.
  • Supports US F&A Leadership in enhancing region's performance and rolling out strategic initiatives
  • Acts as financial business partner with the regional lead team and shares responsibility with members of the region's management team for setting the overall goals, performance measures and operating policies.
  • Performs consolidation, reporting and reconciliation of the monthly profit forecast including variance analysis.
  • Takes the lead in the development of the AOP and strategic plan for the region.
  • Responsible for the development of monthly financial reporting that details the operational results of the region. Provides monthly and other periodic reviews for all key business metrics.
  • Monitors current financial performance and developing a financial forecast that reflects future tactical operational or strategic changes.
  • Pro-actively identifies cost improvement opportunities, initiates and monitors cost avoidance and cost reduction efforts to completion.
  • Provides guidance and support in preparation of capital requests including but not limited to business case analysis, fortifying assumptions and performing due diligence. Submit all capital requests ensuring they meet the Corporate and Division standards for quality, accuracy and credibility.
  • Closes monthly accounting records, including preparing and approving all journal entries.
  • Manages accounts payable, and cash disbursement process for the region. Prepares cash flow projections.
  • Ensures that region's accounting and finance activities are in compliance with GAAP, corporate policies and directives. Oversees all Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.
  • Develop and implement computerized accounting systems, as required.
  • Responsible to manage, safeguard and control assets and liabilities.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

Provides leadership and functional support for financial resources. Focus on financial forecast and profitability. A functional part of the core team; works to meet the annual operating plan and the strategic plans of the region. Supplies detailed cost analysis and reporting for a region with on division/corporate projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field with 8-10 years of progressive financial planning, cost accounting and leadership experience, or equivalent
  • Experience in a multi-divisional manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, including budget and forecasting, inventory control, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Expertise in financial modeling
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate and support a team
  • Ability to maintain a strong working relationship with regional and divisional management
  • Travel Required: 25%

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBA
  • CMA
  • CPA
  • ERP experience
  • Experience with Lawson, Kronos, and J.D. Edwards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 4-8 Direct Reports

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and represents those found in an office environment. Occasional shop floor visits will also be required which requires the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and proper attire to ensure safety. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as talk and hear. Frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop or kneel. Occasionally required to walk. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
