Position Overview
Primary Purpose of the Position |
The department seeks to fill a 12-month, Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy position in the School of Health Sciences with a start date of August 1, 2025. The department seeks an exceptional candidate to join the current faculty members who are dedicated to increasing diversity within the OT profession. The candidate will teach graduate courses, serve as a faculty advisor, mentor students, produce scholarly research that results in peer-reviewed journals within the discipline and/or interprofessional field, present at inter/professional conferences, engage in procuring extramural funds with interdisciplinary teams, participate in departmental, school, and university service as well as engage in service to the professional discipline and the larger Winston-Salem and Forsyth County community. |

Applicants must have:
- A completed doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related discipline from a regionally accredited four-year institution of higher education.
- A minimum of 5 years' clinical experience.
- An NCBOT license or be eligible to practice OT in North Carolina by the time of appointment.
- Research experience.
- Record of involvement with inter/professional associations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills along with effective interpersonal skills.

- A minimum of one-year academic teaching or clinical supervision (2-3 years academic teaching or clinical supervision are preferred).
- Experience with distance technology and learning management platforms.
- Clinical experience in the area of pediatric or psychosocial practice.
- Board or specialty certification.
- Evidence of scholarly contributions to the profession and/or interprofessional field (i.e., publications, presentations at local, state, and national levels).
- Commitment to diversity, social justice, innovation, and collaboration.
- Openness to new technology.
- Experience with ACOTE Accreditation/Reaccreditation
