PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As a Machinist-Millwright, you will be responsible for the teardown and rebuild of facility pumps, turbines, and rotating equipment. You will work on a variety of pumps, including vertical, between bearing, overhung, screw pumps, positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, and diaphragm pumps, as well as turbines, compressors, fans, and other rotating equipment. All repairs you complete will adhere to PEMEX DEER PARK standards. While your role is primarily day-shift, working 8-hour days, you may be required to perform shop or fieldwork, respond to call-outs, and work weekends as necessary.

 

To be successful, you should have:        

  • Safety Focus: Must demonstrate a strong safety mindset and comply with a drug-free work environment.
  • Experience: Preferred 10 years of relevant plant and machine shop experience; military experience considered.
  • Certifications: Must have a valid TWIC card and driver’s license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and in adverse conditions while using appropriate fall protection.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in mechanical seals, bearing installation/removal, alignments, and rebuilding equipment to Pemex standards.

 

Your responsibilities as the Machinist-Millwright will include:

  • Machining and Repair: Tear down, repair, and rebuild refinery rotating equipment, ensuring accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Component Replacement: Repair or replace components like worn rings, pump cases, impellers, and shafts with precision.
  • Shop Equipment Operation: Operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop tools to complete repairs.
  • Field Work: Troubleshoot, install, remove, and align rotating equipment on-site, working with seals, bearings, and blueprints.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment while following safety protocols and collaborating with other crafts.
