About the role

The ideal candidate in this role will work within a Global Research & Development (R&D) team responsible for designing, validating, and commercializing processes for infant and toddler nutrition products. The ideal candidate will apply scientific and engineering principles to facilitate the design of robust and safe processes for liquid and powder products, while also helping the team identify new technologies and improve the existing ones. The role will involve significant amount of hands-on work in the laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments.

Your responsibilities

As a part of this role, the ideal candidate, after completion of a basic orientation and training, will:

* Conduct experimental trials in lab, pilot plant, or production environments independently or under supervision of senior team members including assisting and driving installation, start-ups, and validation of powder spray drying, aseptic liquid, and retort liquid equipment / lines.

* Use and maintain basic food lab instrumentation such as pH meters, viscometer, weigh balance, water activity meter, and powder tester. Order lab supplies when needed.

* Conduct and assist other product development and pilot plant associates in experimental trials, equipment operation, facility clean-up and sanitation.

* Collect and analyze data, write experimental protocols and project reports independently or under supervision of senior team members.

* Communicate technical information, both written and verbally, to R&D and other cross-functional teams.

* Resolve processing-related problems using hypothesis driven structured problem solving.

* Keep organized process records and laboratory notebooks in compliance with good scientific and regulatory standards, and comply with EHS and cGMP practices and policies.

* Embrace teamwork, Manage time, space, and material resources to allow for efficient and timely delivery of project or departmental objectives.

The ideal candidate will deepen their expertise in thermal processing and process engineering through this role, while developing their problem-solving abilities and leadership skills. They will be provided opportunities to work closely with and learn from our senior team members and professionals that are shaping the future of infant & toddler nutritional products industry.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required. B.S. in Engineering and/or related Technical field preferred. Advanced degree preferred as well.
  • Experience with food/dairy unit operations including spray drying and aseptic processing is preferred, but not required. Better Process Control School certification desired.
  • Strong mechanical skills and computer skills utilizing common software tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint is desired.
  • Simulation and Modeling skills a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills, both verbal and written is needed.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment under pressure and tight time constraints while displaying high degree of teamwork, flexibility, and collaboration.
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime, and travel to manufacturing locations to assist with plant trials.
  • Ability to lift 25kg bags of materials.

Working environment

  • Combination of office, pilot plant, and commercial production environments with the percentage of each varying with the stage of projects.
  • Reckitt works in a hybrid schedule. Expectation is to be located in Evansville, IN and work minimum 3 days per week in the office or as needed for project support.

Travel

Some travel (25%), including international, is required.

US salary ranges

USD$72,000.00- $108,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
