Description As an Accountant with our New Century Health Plan, you will be responsible for providing technical and general accounting assistance to the Controller. You will: Assist in processing the general ledger month-end closing including coordination with internal and external data customers and suppliers, internal and external financial reporting, liaise with finance department contacts Perform professional accounting duties such as prepare journal ledger entries, identify and analyze variances of financial data, maintenance, consolidation and reconciliations of financial records Responsible for providing training, guidance, and assistance to other employees Salary Range: $68,800-$141,000/annually Qualifications* We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent experience 3-5 years of professional accounting experience or equivalent, preferably in managed care required Supervisory and government accounting experience, highly desired Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices Knowledge of management reporting and financial statement preparation Experience with Workday or other EPMs a plus Experience working in Medicare Advantage space is a plus Skill in financial analysis Skill in written and verbal communication to prepare clear and concise correspondence Ability to reconcile departmental records to system reports Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
