Ignite Digital Services is seeking a mid-level systems engineer to support to assist our Government clients with system architecture development, engineering, and integration of maritime sensors. This role is critical to ensuring the successful definition and maturity of a portable maritime hardware and software system design. This role will support researching deployment methods for littoral environments, operational and mission requirements to determine the appropriate system attributes to minimize manufacturing complexities for mass production.

Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop system architectures, including hardware, software, and network components, to meet specific requirements and ensure system integration
  • Create and manage system models to enhance understanding, communication, and integration of complex systems
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality
  • Research sensor deployment methods in a littoral environment against operational requirements
  • Document system specific modularity and interoperability between systems platforms
  • Collect and organize broad scale maritime surface sensor capabilities. Evaluate platforms for capability and integrate into a modular, interoperable architecture
  • Perform market research, prior work discovery, and mitigate capability gaps of industry offerings in the maritime sensing domain. Specifically, identifying maritime platforms that a modular/user configurable


Desired Skills:



  • Proficiency in various networking paradigms such as mesh, point-to-point, hub/spoke, software-defined networking, named data networking, and IP stack
  • Systems Integration: Expertise in integrating various system components and technologies to create cohesive, functional systems that meet business needs
  • Testing and Validation: Skills in developing and executing test plans to validate system functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools to support system design, development, and lifecycle management. Proficient in creating and managing system models to enhance understanding, communication, and integration of complex systems
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Life Cycle Management Tools. i.e. Doors, Cameo, Team Center, Windchill, MATLAB, STK
  • Familiarity with various sensing technologies, including acoustic, environmental (SUROB/METOC), and RF sensing. Understanding of how these technologies integrate into larger systems and their implications for system performance and data interpretation


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline
  • 2+ years experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs in a Systems Engineering role, preferred maritime programs experience
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering modeling software i.e. Cameo, Capella, Magic Draw
  • Nice to have: INCOSE certified ASEP, or CSEP


Schedule: hybrid, 3 to 4 days a week on-site

Salary: $80,000+ to align with education and experience
