Job Summary:

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician team. Works both independently and as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Job Description:

  • Provides clinical care for patients while they are in the hospital.
  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
  • Refers for specialty care when determined.
  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
  • Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.

Practice details:

  • Mercy has 68 Hospitalists plus 6 APPs and there are 250+ hospitalists in the system

  • Full time days, 7am-5pm, at Unity campus with possible coverage at Mercy campus.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program and certification through ANCC
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges
  • ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - required within 180 Days

Pay Range

Pay Range: $127,174 to $159,420 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
