Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate the activities of varies personnel involved in the daily operations of the plant as directed by the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors and visitors to the plant, including but not limited to, that all employees have the correct PPE, providing training for employees on assigned shift and complying with all MSHA and company safety.
  • Reports and corrects any unsafe or questionable areas and practices to management as soon as possible.
  • Ensures plant operations, quality control and production by designated crew meetings or exceed the requirements outlined by the Plant Manager.
  • Determines when process parameters need to be altered to increase reliability, throughput or reduce/increase labor.
  • Trains and motivates employees to work safely and productively.
  • Authorizes work schedules, overtime and time-off as permitted by the needs of the department and in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures the completion of required documentation to complete the job.
  • Validates the required production reporting at the end of each shift.
  • Adheres to all CEMEX, OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations at all times.
  • Wears proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
  • Meet or exceeds company safety standards.
  • Plans and manages the execution of outages
  • Must maintain and manage department budgeting process
  • Insures and participates in RCA meeting to prevent repeating failures


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work scheduled hours


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong networking, interpersonal and teamwork/collaboration skills
  • Ability to use a computer, MS Office Software, email and operation software
  • Result oriented, identifies issues and drives the decision process


Working Conditions

  • Extreme temperatures
  • Lifting and moving 50+ pounds
  • Working at heights greater than two stories
  • Frequent standing, sitting, squatting and walking


Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which includes, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and/or pulling of controls

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $121000.00 to $154000.00 depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
