Location:PA-Pittsburgh Job Title: Broadcast Director - WPXI TV Position Overview WPXI TVis looking for a Broadcast Director! Applicants must be comfortable directing in a fast paced, live television environment and be able to oversee all technical aspects of a live broadcast, across all broadcast platforms. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate clearly with staff and news management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct live news broadcasts through the use of Grass Valley's Ignite Automation System Oversee and direct content for all digital platforms Recognize and be able to troubleshoot problems with Ignite Automation: Grass Valley K-Frame Switcher Avid iNEWS Chyron Hego Graphics Studio Mics and Lighting Maintain a positive, cooperative and professional attitude at all times Minimum Qualifications B.A. in related field preferred Ability to work closely with our experienced staff to maximize production possibilities of various news and programming subjects A strong and creative knowledge of state-of-the-art newscast elements is mandatory Ability to organize and incorporate a wide mix of broadcast components (satellite feeds, interviews, breaking news, server playback, advanced graphics systems, etc.) into each program Prior directing experience with Ignite or similar newscast automation systems in a medium or major market is required Proven success directing an hour-long format preferred Ability to bring a fresh, creative focus to studio and location production will be necessary for consideration Strong computer knowledge and the energy/initiative to manage a fast-paced work environment Flexibility to change work assignments and schedules and the maturity to help supervise the technical staffing assigned to our productions Live directing and/or switching experience and knowledge of switcher concepts Ability to sit and direct for long time periods often hours at a time Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2-year television news experience preferred Knowledge of the Grass Valley Ignite automation system or similar system preferred Knowledge of Avid iNews and automation integration preferred About Cox Media Group CMG Media Corporation (d/b/a Cox Media Group) is an industry-leading media company with unparalleled brands, award-winning content, and exceptional team members.
