Entry-Level Industrial Hygienist

S&ME seeks a motivated and passionate entry-level Industrial Hygienist to join our Environmental team in Greensboro, North Carolina. No experience is required. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to grow their skills with the support of industrial hygienists/managers, Certified Industrial Hygienists, and office leadership. As an Associate Industrial Hygienist, you'll work under the supervision of a Licensed Industrial Hygienist, where you'll support diverse projects, ranging from hands-on assessment and sampling to limited project management. You'll contribute to written reports, manage data, maintain specialized equipment, and prepare scope and fee proposals for review by Senior Reviewers. This role also offers interaction with clients, opportunities to build relationships, provide quality and responsive service creating new business development opportunities. Typical projects will include assessments related to asbestos, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Field Data Collection: Perform thorough hazardous materials assessments and asbestos air sampling with precision. Ensure data accuracy and follow quality procedures for sample submission and evaluation.
  • Report & Proposal Preparation: Prepare draft reports and proposals for various-sized projects to be reviewed by senior staff and conduct assessments with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Business Development: Engage with local professional organizations and support senior staff in client interactions and meetings to enhance business opportunities.



What You Bring:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related sciences
  • 0-2 years of industrial hygiene field sampling experience
  • A North Carolina Asbestos Inspector and Monitor accreditations, a plus
  • Good business and technical writing skills
