Job Description The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. Job Summary: Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated intern PhD student to join our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will use LCMS Methods for selectivity analysis on protein targets. Specific goals for this position include the identification of signature peptides of protein of interest, optimization of proteolytic digestion conditions and sample preparation conditions to yield maximum desired peptides, and optimization of the LC-MS/MS conditions necessary to develop, produce a robust and reproducible bioanalytical method in disease-relevant cells or preclinical species and perform bioinformatics analysis of the results. They will be fully immersed in the day-to-day operations of a drug discovery group. Program Dates: June - September 2025, Full Time Pay Range $33.00 - $50.00 USD/hour This job posting is for a temporary role with a third-party agency partner that provides services to Vertex.
