Overview Job Summary Practices Spiritual Care skills under the supervision of a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Supervisor. Provides direct Spiritual Care services to patients, families and staff for the various nursing clinical areas to which may be assigned. In addition, the Chaplain Resident is responsible for participation in education and for meeting the Standards set forth by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. The primary purpose of this program is to advance clinical visitation skills including crisis counseling, medical ethics, addictions, end of life support, and spiritual assessment and to engage in theological reflection on that ministry.Essential Functions
Service ability to be mobile (walking, standing, sitting, etc.) Talking and hearing essential to communicate with patients, families, and teammates. Must be able to read and speak English in simple, understandable terms. Must be able to be mobile and free of any physical limitation which would preclude fulfillment of spiritual care duties. Ability to engage in a good working relationship with all departments. Education, Experience and Certifications Master's of Divinity or equivalency based on the Common Qualification and Competencies for Professional Chaplains preferred. One previous unit of Clinical Pastoral Education by an accredited ACPE center preferred. |
